Caption: On June 30, 2012, fireworks light up the night sky and reflect off the water during Rhythm and Booms, an annual Fourth of July celebration held across Lake Mendota at Warner Park in Madison, Wis. The photo was made from the Pyle Center Rooftop Terrace at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where more than 250 pediatrics patients and their families were enjoying a unique, front-row view of the fireworks show. The private event was a partnership between the Pyle Center, which is part of the UW-Extension Conference Centers, and the American Family Children's Hospital, and included food donated by area businesses and an appearance by UW-Madison mascot Bucky Badger.
